Venezuela has been grappling with a severe humanitarian crisis for several years. Political instability, economic collapse, and social unrest have contributed to an alarming decline in living conditions for millions of Venezuelans. The scarcity of basic necessities such as food, medicine, and clean water has resulted in widespread suffering, and forced many to seek refuge in neighbouring countries.
The Communist Regime’s Impact
The current regime in Venezuela has exacerbated the crisis, with policies that have further undermined the country’s economy and democracy. The lack of respect for human rights, freedom of expression, and political dissent has led to a climate of fear and uncertainty. As a result, many Venezuelans have been compelled to leave their homes in search of safety and a better future for their families. So how is Oro Immigration Services trying to help with this issue?
The Canada-Venezuela Humanitarian Program
Recognizing the urgent need to address the plight of Venezuelans, a group of dedicated professionals has come together to advocate for a Canada-Venezuela Humanitarian Program. This program aims to offer vital assistance to Venezuelan families and support those who have already sought refuge in Canada.
The Petition to the House of Commons
On June 9th, 2023, a petition was presented to the House of Commons, calling for special visa requirements and the establishment of the Canada-Venezuela Humanitarian Program. The petition appeals for the creation of a program that would provide assistance to Venezuelan families in need and allow those already in Canada to extend their work permits and study permits, enabling them to stay and avoid returning to the oppressive regime in Venezuela.
