Provincial Nominee Programs-Express Entry
Many provinces and territories have streams linked with the Federal Express Entry selection system.
A provincial nomination is the most valuable factor in the Comprehensive Ranking System. Out of the maximum score of 1,200 that can be assigned to Express Entry candidates, 600 points correspond to a provincial nomination. These 600 points can probably guarantee that the applicant will receive an Invitation To Apply (ITA).
Individuals who wish to apply for a provincial nomination under a PNP stream must first create an Express Entry profile and enter the pool.
Entrepreneurs or Investors programs
Within the provincial programs are the entrepreneurs or investors programs. These types of programs are ideal for people with business experience, some capital accumulated during their professional life and willing to open a business within Canada.
Compared with skilled worker programs, the requirements of English or French level are usually lower on these investor or entrepreneur programs, and in some provinces, age is not a limitation to consider for applicants.
